Whether you became a grandparent yesterday or years ago, it is likely that much has changed — including your role in the family, your relationship with your grandchild’s parents, and your view of your place in the world and your legacy.
In partnership with Jewish Grandparents Network, we will share our life experiences as we explore the ways becoming a grandparent has changed you. Then, we will mark this Shehecheyanu moment with a short, at-home water ceremony based on the ancient Jewish ritual of mikveh, bringing together body, heart, and soul.
Together, we will share in a short, guided, collective water-pouring ritual that will honor and celebrate this pivotal moment in your life. After our ceremony, there will be time to offer your reflections and reactions to the ritual.
We welcome grandparents of all faiths who are helping raise Jewish grandchildren. We look forward to celebrating and reflecting together!
How to prepare for the workshop:
All you need is a cup or vessel that you can fill with tap water, a large bowl, and a hand towel. While it is helpful to perform the ceremony in a quiet, uninterrupted space, you can take part wherever you are most comfortable.
PLEASE NOTE: To maintain the intimacy of this event, we will not record the session.
