In preparation for a High Holiday season like no other, Mayyim Hayyim and leading voice in Jewish music, Joey Weisenberg, invite you to the 6th annual Knocking at Our Hearts. For the first time ever, this program will run virtually and is open worldwide.

Prepare your whole self – body and soul – for the High Holidays with the transcendental power of song, text study, and reflection. Enjoy a community-wide song-learning workshop, a text study of a piyyut (liturgical poem), and space for reflection.

No prior knowledge required. All songs with words will have song sheets provided.

Musician, composer, and teacher Joey Weisenberg is the founder and co-director of Hadar’s Rising Song Institute, which aims to cultivate the grassroots musical-spiritual creativity of the Jewish people. He is the author of The Torah of Music (2017 winner of the National Jewish Book Award) and Building Singing Communities, and he has released seven albums with the Hadar Ensemble, most recently Nigunim, Vol. VII: Songs of Ascent (2019).

Please contact Amalia Mark, Rabbinic Intern, at education@mayyimhayyim.org or 617-244-1836 ext. 212 with any questions.

Presented in partnership with Hadar’s Rising Song Institute
