Jewish spaces are meant to feel like home, but for those of us who identify as Black, Indigenous, Sephardi, Mizrachi, and Jews of Color, the spaces that are meant to feel like home can be alienating. For us, venturing out into new and unfamiliar Jewish spaces can feel risky. At Mayyim Hayyim, we strive to be a warm and welcoming environment for all those who are interested in bringing the ritual of mikveh immersion into their lives, so we would like to open our doors to BIPOC, Sephardi, and Mizrachi Jews to check out the space, explore the ritual, and get comfy. Join us at our open house to engage in some learning about mikveh and the ceremonies we use to make the ritual personally meaningful, tour the space, have a bite to eat, meet other folks who identify as BIPOC, Sephardi, and Mizrachi Jews, and maybe even immerse if you feel ready!
