Ritual immersion in a mikveh – a gathering of living water (mayyim hayyim) – marks a change in status. People immerse at Mayyim Hayyim to celebrate moments of joy, to heal after times of sorrow or illness, or to commemorate transitions and changes.
Visitors often choose to schedule a tour of Mayyim Hayyim prior to their immersion. All visits are scheduled by appointment.
When you arrive for your immersion you will be greeted by a volunteer Mikveh Guide. Plan to arrive at the time your appointment has been scheduled; there is no need to arrive early. Appointments are generally scheduled for 45 minutes – 1 hour which includes time for a tour, preparation, immersion and dressing afterward.
Your Mikveh Guide is present to support you. They will offer you a tour of the mikveh, the private dressing rooms, and will explain the immersion process. We have everything here that you would need to prepare – you do not need to bring anything with you.
If there is anything we can do to make your experience here more meaningful please let us know.
